How to make it as a 40+ model | Model Mayhem Education Blog. One of my Cougars!
Check out this article from Model Mayhem. One of our very own Cougar Models, Maria, is featured in a story about modeling after 40. It’s the second time this week that I’ve seen article featuring mature women as models.
Earlier in the week, Yahoo featured a story about Cindy Joseph, a mature model who used to work “behind the scenes” in the modeling world. One day, well into her Cougar years, she got “noticed” at work and her new career as a model began.
It’s a wonderful trend that is beginning to emerge in today’s society! It’s interesting to take note of the changes that have developed over the years. First, it was only All-American apple pie looking girls like Cheryl Tiegs and Christie Brinkley who became super successful as models.
Then we branched out into the world of the brunettes with Cindy Crawford, and Tyra Banks. Now, thankfully, there has been a bit of a trend toward using various body sizes and shapes in modeling and print ads.
The latest trend, and my personal favorite, is the using of models who are more mature. We have Andie McDowell, who has been modeling for a makeup line for years and still is. We have Ellen Degeneres, Halle Berry, and many other women who have passed the forty mark promoting beauty products.
This is great news for all of us! Society needs to recognize the beauty in women. Why is is men get “rugged” with age, but women get “tired”? We say “No Way!”
